Skiing in the USA

Ski holidays in the USA are a very popular way to see this great country. With many lovely mountains, cold winters and an outdoorsy population it is no surprise that America has some of the best ski resorts in the world.

North America has some of the biggest mountain ranges in the world. The Rocky and Coastal Mountain chains have some absolutely beautiful peaks that are covered in snow in the winter months. Resorts have set up here to take advantage of these great natural features — visitors here can enjoy the terrain and the gorgeous scenery at the same time. One of the best resorts to visit on US ski holidays is Jackson Hole, which is on the edge of Yellowstone National Park. The scenery is absolutely incredible as it is truly in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. The skiing is great, but there is also a lovely village full of great restaurants and bars.

Breckenridge in Colorado is a great place to go for hard-core skiing. There slopes are quite un-crowded so the snow is quite untouched – acres and acres of perfect powder await adventurous souls. There is also good skiing for beginners and intermediates

Alternatively, you can head to Stowe in Vermont. This resort is in the east making it more accessible for people coming from Europe. While you may not have the grandeur of the Rockies, the slopes here are still quite amazing and there will be something to satisfy every level of skier. Non-skiers can also stay entertained with snowshoeing, skating and snowmobiling

Skiing in the United States is always a pleasure thanks to its ideal weather, towering mountains and modern resorts. It is well worth coming across to North America just for the pleasure of skiing in this marvellous part of the world – just be sure to bring a camera to capture the gorgeous views!
